RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER RELIGIOUS GROUPS

AFIC and State Councils are involved with the National Council of Churches of Australia, World Conference on Religion and Peace, the Uniting Church and other major groups

The Islamic Councils of NSW and Victoria are involved in regular dialogue with various Christian organizations and the Islamic Council of Victoria has established a regular dialogue with the Victorian Council of Churches.

In 2002, the Australian National Dialogue of Christians, Muslims and Jews was officially formed under the three national religious bodies which include the National Council of Churches in Australia, the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils and the Executive Council of Australian Jewry.

 

The new group meets quarterly to discuss relevant issues and to broaden mutual understanding of their respective faiths.
