MESSAGE OF RAMADAN

Dr Ameer Ali, President of AFIC

Perth , 3 October 2005.

Dr Ameer Ali, President of the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils in a statement from Perth extended felicitations of Ramadan, the fasting month for Muslims throughout the world which is commencing from Wednesday, 5 October 2005. Muslims fast for the whole month and do not consume any food or drink during the daylight hours. God says in the Qurán that the fasting of a Muslim will be of no avail unless it is accompanied by righteous behaviour and conduct.

“It is indeed a great pleasure for me to extend to the Muslim Community of Australia the sincerest felicitations of RAMADAN AL MUBARAK,” he said.

“May Allah (swt) grant His Choicest Blessings on all Muslims and all humanity particularly those who are facing hardship and are in difficulty” he added .

Muslims are encouraged to share this holy month with our fellow Australians by inviting them to Iftar and extending to them hospitality and friendship, and to explain to them about the message of Ramadan, when Muslims throughout the world try to reform their lives in conformity with the values of humanity and to instil in each one the consciousness of God, the Creator and Sustainer of all humanity.

“May the blessings of this holy month of Ramadan permeate the entire human kind and bring peace, security, stability and hope for all peoples of the world,” concluded Dr Ali.
