17 June 2005 MUFTI RETURNS TO AUSTRALIA FROM IRAQ The President of the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC), Dr Ameer Ali today confirmed that Mufti Tajuddin El Hilaly is returning to Australia on Monday, 20 june 2005 and that a press conference will be held at 12.00 noon at the offices of the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils, 932 Bourke Street, Zetland (corner of Elizabeth Street) Sydney to enable the media to meet with the Mufti and the leaders of the Muslim community. Dr Ali said that the media will have all the opportunity to seek first-hand information from the Mufti and should wait for this rather than speculate on the events surrounding the freedom of Douglas Wood. Dr Ali said that the most important fact and news was that Douglas Wood was freed at last and he wished him and his extended family well.
